Good News

Following the last point to ponder which may have left some a little deflated.  Here is some good news.

Although the book of Revelation reveals details of life on earth during the end times which make for pretty unpleasant reading there can be a good outcome for everyone.  In basic terms: The whole of the Bible is about Jesus Christ.  The Old Testament (Genesis to Malachi) point to Jesus Christ.  The New Testament (Matthew to Revelation) reveal Jesus Christ.  The Bible records man’s fall and exile from paradise where God walked, communed and had relationship with Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden; to giving Himself to be the ultimate sacrifice so that, that kind of relationship can be restored again.

Romans chapter 6 verse 23 The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Adam and Eve had one instruction; not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis chapter 2 verse 17).  They couldn’t keep to it so they were exiled from paradise and eternal life, becoming mortal, their days and as such our days were numbered.  The rest of the Old Testament is mainly about God choosing to bless the world through a nation that nation being Israel.  Life is in the blood and the wages of sin (misdeeds) are death.  On the eve of their release from slavery in Egypt the Jews had to paint their door posts and lintels with the blood of sacrificed lambs.  Exodus chapter 12 records the details.  Death passed over their dwellings and to this day the Jews celebrate the occasion which is known as the Passover Feast.  The Passover Feast which required the sacrifice of a flawless one year old lamb is a foreshadow of Jesus Christ.  His death by crucifixion on a cross at Calvary happened at the time of the Feast of Passover.  Jesus’s shed blood paid the price of sin. He rose from the grave three days later defeating death.

1Corinthians chapter 15 verse 55  O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?

Jesus Christ, God incarnate became our sacrificial lamb.  That’s the good news of the Bible. For nearly 2000 years Jesus has held out His pierced hands to welcome all who choose to believe and come to Him.

John chapter 3 verse 16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Acts chapter 2 verse 38  Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

For those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour (their Passover lamb) repent of their sins, ask Him into their lives and do their best to follow His teachings eternal life is theirs.  Yes, our body will one day perish but our souls the very essence of who we are will live on in a new body in a new heaven and earth.  Jesus will continue to hold out His hands until He comes again and then His hands will no longer be held out. It will be too late.  The choice to believe or not and act on it is entirely up to each individual.  We at the KoA have all chosen to trust in Jesus Christ we hope and pray you will.

Keep safe
